New to all of this here so be patient with me in advance.
I am in the process of migrating the master server (running CQC ver. 4.3.1, on Win 7 Pro) to a Windows 10. The goal is to have all machines running the latest version out right now which is 5.1. I am a little worried as a couple device had specific drivers written to work on windows 7 and am hoping they will work on 10 but I'm not sure. I just started to upgraded the old master server to 5.1, but is now asking for a new license? I'm not sure why this is, since it was already purchased. Any help on where to find the key/next steps to take would be helpful. Thankyou.

Any time you move to a new machine (or update further than a revision release) you need to get the license updated. That's just standard procedure and to be expected.
So just send an e-mail to support at our domain. Let us know which system it is, and what the new install key is. I see you are with xsconsulting, right? Check with Dean Pass if you need to figure out what that system's name is. He should know.

Are you just upgrading the system in place, or are you moving CQC to a new machine? Either way it won't really matter which order. Just wait until the whole process is complete then get a new license.
If you are moving it to a new machine, then it should be removed from the old machine, in which case it doesn't make a lot of sense to upgrade CQC first. Just move to the new machine, then do the upgrade, then get the new license.
If you are just upgrading a machine in place to Windows 10, then it doesn't matter much what order you do them in.

Also, i do not have the 4.3.1 version installer to install on the new one. Is this located in a certain area on the old machine for me to get access to?

(This post was last modified: 08-02-2017, 01:54 PM by Dean Roddey.)
The standard scenario is:
1. Stop the CQC Services and any GUI applications (and the tray monitor if running)
2. Zip up the whole CQC directory
3. Unzip the directory on the new machine, usually in the same place, the default being "C:\Program Files (x86)\CQC"
4. Run the installer on the new machine. It'll ask if this is a new or upgrade. Say upgrade.
5. Select the version install file in the CQC directory
6. The installer will update the system and you should be up and running, modulo any changes in things like serial ports and such that you might have to adjust for.
Once it's up and happy, you can remove CQC from the old machine. Just run uninstaller from the start menu.
