I installed the quarterly Windows updates on the server, and something went awry. Everything was happy but MyBB seemingly. It was already 1AM or later when I did that, and then didn't notice that the forums were down until a while after that. I check and a couple of the updates failed and a few worked. So I rolled them all back and thankfully it came back. I was dreading an all nighter to figure out what went wrong.

Of course now I have to figure out why it failed, so that I can get the updates installed.

Dean, sounds like you host the website on your own machine. True? What speed network connection do you have for it?

It's a hosted virtual machine. We used to have a hosted real machine, but back around Xmas time or thereabouts we switched over to a virtual machine. It costs a bit less and we get some other benefits from it in terms of a remote server. We use SoftLayer.com, which recently got bought out by IBM, so they are sort of IBM now I guess, but they still run under Softlayer. The old real machine was with them as well.
The provide a 100Mb/s public interface and a 10Mb/s private interface.
