If you want color lights, you'd need to throw a Hue system into the mix. There's no problem running them both side by side.

I always thought they were WIFI lights.
That should work as one of the light would be far away. Just to make sure I would have the PC, ISY, Inteon PLM, Hue Hub all connected to CQC for all this to work? I also have another option, rgbw led strip under the soffit with the insteon outdoor on/off module. Thanks.

The Hue system is based on Zigbee wireless technology.

Dean,
another question. Do you know if I setup a sensor to control a different technology would that create some type of delay. Example: Insteon motion sensor to control hue bulbs. Would this create a delay compared to using the same brand/technology even that this would be considered local and not using the cloud. thanks.

If you have CQC react to an Insteon motion sensor and control something else, that should be quite quick. It will often vary a small amount, but for those devices that quickly report changes (and the ISY does), CQC will react quite quickly to that, since the Insteon driver will send out a notification that the event server will react to and it will run the action you have configured for that. So it's all event driven, and therefore pretty fast. If the device is not quick to report changes, or has to be polled and has lots of values to poll so it might take a couple seconds worst case to see a change, then the process will be somewhat slower.
