web/forum suggestion...
#1
be great if there was someplace us users could log into and check our account statusy type stuff... like see if we are paid up on maintenance for example... maybe see what is licensed...(and maybe order license upgrades?)
kind of like a license "self serve" of sorts...
or at least a check to verify that the CQC Mothership agrees with what someone thinks their license is? although I think the whole "self Serve" thing would be more useful...

but the big thing, for me at least, would be to check on the maintenance thing... I know I did the "pay up for a couple of years" thing a couple of years ago, but I am no longer sure how many a "couple" is anymore... or how long it has actually been... or if time is an illusion or not and how that effects the Maintenance fee thingy...

I vaguely remember seeing an email from CQC about something... but the timing was wrong and it got shoved aside, now it is lost forever...
but being able to either check account status by logging into the website, or have it be in the user CP area of the forum or something would be nice...

The notifications are sent out every couple weeks, though you will only get one at most once a month, once your system is getting closer to or over the coverage date. As long as our e-mail for you is good, you should get it. If you haven't seen one, e-mail us at support at our domain and make sure we have your correct e-mail, and see what your coverage date is.

I'm pretty iffy about putting any of your customer information on the server, since it's a hosted server, not one that we physically control. And, even if we did, it's exposed to the outside world and all such servers are vulnerable.

I agree with Dean regarding customer data on hosted server.
I do, however, have a comment on the new forum and not sure where to post about it.

There is a lot of wasted space in the forum template. This seems a recent trend of many websites doing a fixed width regardless what screen resolution a viewer may have. My crappy laptop screen is 1366x768. I estimate that at least 50% of screen space is white space with nothing on it at the top level and upwards of 30% once scrolled down. In the past I used browser extensions to modify pages I did not like, but would prefer to not need to do this here.

as a customer, I agree about not putting customer info in a vulnerable situation...
but I don't think you would need to expose too much? in my unprofessional view, they only thing an evil (Russian?) hacker would have access to would be to pay my maintenance fee for me, or buy someone an upgrade... seems like a win-win?

anyway, it was just a thought... as long as you send out multiple warnings on the maintenance thing I guess it is fine the way it is... although getting the Russians(?) to pay for it would be nicer...
