So, it turns out that the attachments didn't get messed up. What happened is that the custom attachment type definitions didn't get brought forward. So the forum software thought that there was no such attachment type and would fail to download it.
So I added the driver pack type back in, and those work now. I went to add the macro and template pack types back in and the forum database has a max column side of 10 characters for the extension, so I can't add them back in. I reported this on the MyBB forum. I think it would be a fairly easy fix since probably there's nothing in the code itself that cares, and a change in the database column width would do it. In the meantime, we still can't download those.

OK, they said that just changing the column definition in the database was fine, so I did that and have added the other package types back in, so all of the attachments should work now. If you find that one doesn't work, I may have missed it so just let me know.

Looks good! Feels like a nice improvement. Can we change the MyBB logo at the top?

At some point here I'll try to dig into that stuff. But the gotcha is that, once you change any of that, every time thereafter that you do an upgrade, you have to get those changes back over in case those modified files were updated, which could become a serious pain.

hopefully google will index the new site soon.. everything on goggle points to the old site.  you can kinda cheat and pull up the cached copy on google but that doesnt work for multi page threads

I would hope they would have already, given that they constantly are accessing it. Maybe they are confused by the way it changed or something, i.e. same paths but different thread ids and same domain but different IP.

I am trying to re-setup the sagetv server and was seeing java errors in the sagetv log..  Search using the site search and didn't have much luck.. Gave google a shot  'error trying to parse CON:CON cqc'   <- CON:CON is something unique in the log. . the hit returns a link to a thread on the old site but not the same  thread as it was ported.....

I don't know why they wouldn't have replaced the new with the old by now. I'm not sure how their stuff works wrt that kind of thing. They are constantly scanning this new forum though.
