It might be overscan on the projector/card. Are you seeing the entire windows desktop?
I know my Epson/ATI card combo cuts off some pixels at the bottom, but it is adjustable. Not all graphics cards allow you to adjust it, but if you can you should see options in the driver/graphics card software. I certainly don't see that much of the screen lost. But something to check...
