Hey IVB I seen that on ebay also.Thats the switch you use correct.I have been bidding on 3 diff mrc88's but lost all three.do you know the difference between the two?

I believe the MRC888 has built-in amps, and is a CAV66 competitor.
This has no built-in amps, and you'd need to supply your own. Upside is that you can tailor the power to the zone (ie, my MBR has 75wpc, patio has something like 50wpc, others have 30wpc). Also, with the EXP9, you can easily go to 15zones.
Downside is that if you're just doing <=6zones, the CAV66 is a better price point.

The MRC88's do composite video switching. Six of the eight zones are amplified, but all 8 have pre-amp out as well. Also, the MRC88 does a ton with respect to IR control and routing, power sensing, macros... It's really a much more capable box.

Thanks guys,I'M torn between a zpr68 with aPA1235 preamp with 7 different power settings (older technolgy) OR wait and continue to bid on mrc88's and hope to win one for under a grand.

If you don't need more than 6z, wait for the newer stuff.
