I'm working on some code base documentation. Mostly build stuff and high level 'map of the land' stuff to get people oriented as to what is where and whatnot. I could probably at this point go ahead and just do a 6.0 with what I have and update the web site and such, I guess.

On a completely different note... My first song in over 10 years, since I had to sell off all my gear to stay afloat.
It's never perfect, and I go old school, and don't do tuning or quantizing or waveform/MIDI editing and all that. So extremely au naturale for these modern times, with everything committed during recording. https://soundcloud.com/writhingbabymonst...to-the-sun

I just upgraded from 914 to 917. When I attempt to play music (JRiver media repository, CQSL Audio Player) I just get a string of "An exception occurred in the audio player processing loop... Could not build the filter graph for file 'valid file path and extension)"
These are flac files and jRiver is playing them without complaint. This is on my test system. I know I have an admin enabled login for the two CQC services. Any hints?

Were they playing before via our player? Can Windows Media Player play them OK? We are using the WMP engine, so if it can play them we should be able to.

We are using the WMP engine, so if it can play them we should be able to.Yes - They were playing before, but last checked sometime last fall (this is my development system, not production) WMP - This was the problem; Something (not me) removed the WMP from my system. I install it using the package "Media Player Codec Pack". I'd be willing to bet it was the last Windows major update (20H2). I have Windows updates disabled on my production system so it is still on an old Windows 10 version. Reinstalling the codec pack reinstalls WMP and that did the trick... I wonder if I should change over to the VLC player since it appear that WMP is in some fashion deprecated?

We only support VLC for movies currently. We could I guess support it for music as well.

I upgraded the master server and all the clients to 20H2 (and using 5.4.917) , and have no issues playing my library from a repo using Sonos V2 Media Renderer. Not sure if the mechanics of this are the same (probably not) but thought I would mention that.

This is one of the frustrating aspects of Windows in that there are no good logs of such actions as program additions, updates, deletions. All I really know is that my locked down production system still has WMP, my system that has 20H2 did not. The culprit will likely never be known.
