.Net RIVA Client - Dean Roddey - 06-10-2009

Don't forget that you need to enable it. It won't run just becasue the license now includes it. You'll need to run the installer on the server where you want the RIVA server to run and enable it. Do the fully custom install and step through till you get to that option.

Well, that would have been useful information 12 hours ago :-)

Just kidding. I am now able to log in and see my screen, although the touchscreen fxnlty doesn't work.

Here's the log:

Here's the log:

I hope there is something above the line 7:54:30.202 AM but it basically looks like communication with server is absolutely hosed from that point onward.

Is this what happens when you did a touch?

.Net RIVA Client - Mark Stega - 06-11-2009

And it may be helpful to see the exception message

Here's the full log, starting a little too early. I had to cut out part of the end to keep the post to 10K characters.

Ok, let me hunt down where to get that cab file. I installed the full .NET CF, at least I figured the 33MB file would have it.

.Net RIVA Client - electron - 06-12-2009

I just tried the latest beta build of the .NET viewer on a clean XP system for fun, and I am running into an odd issue. The client says the user/pass combo is wrong, but the logs on the server show the log-in was successful.

Quote:Error in logon using defined strings -- -- Error verifying user ID and password.

Also, it would be great if you could kill the self cancelling button feature when it detects a 'first run', giving people more than 10 seconds to configure their new system. I don't think I have ever yelled at my computer this much before Wink

Which logs on the server show the successful login? Can you post what you are seeing?

Just create a mouse move event somewhere on the form and the countdown cancels.

Mark, thanks for the quick response. The countdown doesn't cancel, no matter what I try to do (entering data, dragging the window, etc.)

As for the login error, this is what I see every second or so:
Code:

{
    CQCDataSrv, CQCDataSrv_SecurityServerImpl.cpp.270, Status/App Status

Put the mouse on some part of the dialog that doesn't have a control and do a click. That definitely stops the countdown.

Turn the logging to verbose on the RIVA client and capture about 10 seconds of log (it will be in the executing directory) and post that please.
