Is there a service that provides streaming audio that preferable works with CQC? With options like scrolling though artist, album, songs and genre. I guess something like a streaming jukebox.

You mean an online service where you can choose what you want to hear, as apposed to a multi-channel broadcast thing (like XM)?

Yes, is there such an online service?

Not currently. Are there even any such services that allow access by third party tools?

Rhapsody has opened up their service to third parties. Sonos and Logitech SlimDevices have implemented them.

OK. I'll read through that here soon and see what it's all about.

Dean this is a little more clear with a lot more details.

I also went to Rhapsody web site and it appears that this service is available now with SqueezeBox and other hardware as well.

I assume this will work with CQC?

This looks very :cool

It doesn't work with CQC/SlimServer at this moment. You have to switch the Squeezebox from local SlimServer control to SlimDevices network control to gain access to Rhapsody services and at that point CQC can no longer talk to the device.

However, the developers are saying in the next major release of SlimServer they would add that ability so the CQC driver would be able to control the Squeezebox while it was connected to Rhapsody which is half the battle.

That said, this is complex enough that I think CQC would really need to natively support it through some custom media repository driver as otherwise there is just no way to browse that size of a collection! IMHO, an out of box Rhaspody repository driver with the native Windows Media Player would be a killer combination for the market!

I think this going to be very exciting for music access. There are many songs, Cd's that I would like to listen to but would never go out and buy. Also we can listen to a whole song, to be able to make a better decision on choosing to buy or not to buy.

Jonathan I do think your right about how CQC will need to manage the massive collection of music. From what we know at this time dose CQC plan on taking this on?

I think that most of the CQC users will go for this. The fees and options are on this link http://learn.rhapsody.com/plans?pageid=unagi.11894691.wrapper&pageregion=A1&src=offer_rhap_rhapDMMMainPage%2Crotw.learn_overview%2Crotw.learn_plans%2Crotw.learn_homeaudio&pcode=rn&opage=rotw.learn_homeaudio&rsrc=aff
Do you think you would use this service?

Guaranteed I would use a service like this, especially if it had a nice interface and easy way of sorting through the catalog inside CQC. My wife would love it too, and I think it is a great feature to add that would be a one-up on some of the competition.
