Apple buys Dark Sky... - gReatAutomation - 03-31-2020 This sucks... I can foresee Apple either turning the API off completely or monetizing the hell out of it. RE: Apple buys Dark Sky... - pilotguy7ca - 06-13-2022 I just got an email saying that the Dark Sky API will cease to work on March 31, 2023. What are people using for weather now? If you have an Apple Developer account (~$100 per year) you get access to the new WeatherKit API and 500,000 calls to it per day. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/weatherkitrestapi RE: Apple buys Dark Sky... - kblagron - 06-14-2022 I did an OpenWeatherMap driver with their newer JSON feed (OneCall API) a couple of years ago. Similar to DarkSky but had a few things it didn't provide. I have been using DarkSky for most of my weather data, but use the OpenWeatherMap driver for predicted rain totals that Darksky didn't have. https://www.charmedquark.com/vb_forums/showthread.php?tid=11113 |
