  New to driver development - where to start?
Posted by: jokermac - 09-22-2021, 05:28 AM - Forum: Driver Development - Replies (2)

I have a few things I'm trying to accomplish on my setup and willing to put in the effort to try and learn enough to be dangerous on driver development.  Before investing a bunch of time, is there still enough support on here to help answer what will probably be some pretty basic questions to start?  Below is a list of what I need to do:

1.  JVC projector is disconnecting from the driver.  (troubleshoot and resolve driver issue).
2.  Add room support for Hue Lighting driver.
3.  Add driver for SNMP control of CyperPower PDU to reduce overall power usage of rack.  Generic driver may already exist?

Any advice before setting out on this?  Recommended examples of basic code to modify?

  Lutron RA2 & Caseta drivers
Posted by: Mark Stega - 09-14-2021, 06:27 AM - Forum: Driver Development - Replies (6)

I have updated the Lutron drivers mentioned above. Support has been added for fans, shades, and shadegroups. The shipped RA2 client driver does not know about these so you have to edit the configuration file by hand. Here is a very simple configuration file defining three thermostats:

ButtonCnt=0
ContactClCnt=0
DimmerCnt=0
FanCnt=1
Fan=fan1,22:0
LEDCnt=0
LtSwitchCnt=1
Switch=ls1,23:0
OccSensorCnt=0
ShadeCnt=1
Shade=sh1,24:0
ShadeGroupCnt=1
ShadeGroup=sg,25:0
ThermoCnt=0

Note that the groups are in alpha order.

Values for the new device types:

fan values are Off, Low, Medium, MediumHigh, High

shades and shadegroups are 0 to 100

  Sonos Log Message
Posted by: karenlee - 09-13-2021, 03:04 AM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (5)

Hi

My logs are filling up with "Some fields of this driver got no initial values. Up to the first 8 are displayed". (An entry for each of my sonos speakers)

Is there any way to get rid of this message?

Thanks
Karen

  CQC and my Samsung windows tablet
Posted by: ellisr63 - 09-04-2021, 12:30 PM - Forum: Installation/Configuration - Replies (1)

I have been running Windows 10 and the latest CQC version (6.02), and everything was ok. One day I went to use the tablet to control CQC and it could not find the Master Server. I do not know if Windows 10 installed something that is blocking it or not, and I even went as far as installing Windows 10 again.  I looked and win 10 can see the Tablet, and the tablet can see HA (my Win 10 machine). I have reinstalled both the Win 10 CQC and the Samsung tablet  Win CQC (Windows 7 or NT), and it does not automatically see the Win 10 master server. Can anyone give me a sample of the Master server address? My Master Server is called HA. I tried just putting in HA, and also HA-PC, but neither work when it gets to the test screen.

  Site certificate expiration
Posted by: Dean Roddey - 09-03-2021, 06:35 AM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (1)

Despite being on auto-renew, somehow our certificate didn't auto-renew and so I got no reminder, and it expired yesterday. I've been trying to get it manually renewed, but at the moment Network Solutions' ordering system seems to be whacked. Hopefully I'll get it fixed today.

  Life360
Posted by: EST - 09-03-2021, 04:12 AM - Forum: General Automation - No Replies

Is there anyway to utilize this free service, Life360, for location tracking?  We use if daily with out family and it would be great to use for geo tracking and home presence.  I know there is an unofficial API work around w/ Home Assistant but was hopeful to use in CQC.

  Curious About Usage Post Public Domain
Posted by: kblagron - 08-29-2021, 10:30 PM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (17)

I am curious what the usage is on CQC is now.  The forum here has all but died of activity.  I can say that I use CQC every day, and I guess because of Dean's great work, I have very few problems anymore.  I am probably 99% done with what I want to do - of course you can always think of a thing or two you could change or fix.

I would say 80% of my activity is through the native Alexa interface NishanF posted, and the other 20% is through either two touchscreens or WebRiva interface.  My guess is that I access it via Alexa commands about 8 times a day, and through the touch screen 1-2 times a day.  I also have a good number of triggered and scheduled events as well.

If you're still active, I would be interested in your usage.  I would really hate to see CQC go away, but without any forum posts, I do worry about its future.

Regards,
Blake
