  Emotiva XMC-2 Drivers?
Posted by: Darrie - 01-02-2022, 07:23 PM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (1)

I am currently looking for an XMC-2 driver. I see that there is one for the XMC-1 and I tried it to see if it would connect to the XMC-2. Does anybody know if a driver exist for this device or how to create one?

  Upgrading to 6.0.2
Posted by: znelbok - 12-05-2021, 12:33 PM - Forum: Installation/Configuration - Replies (1)

Hi

I am on 5.4.914 and I need to go to 6.0.2

I see everywhere that I need to upgrade to 5.4.917 before I can upgrade to V6, but there is a 920 beta after 917.  Should I use that instead before going to 6.0.2 or does it not make any difference?

Thanks

  New Install Errors
Posted by: znelbok - 11-27-2021, 11:55 AM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (3)

Hi All

I am about to migrate my CQC from an old server to a new PC.  I am at the fist stage of installing CQC for the first time before I migrate the install from the old server.

The new PC is a WIn10 machine and has nothing else installed.

CQC Version 5.4.914 (Will upgrade once I migrate)

I get this error when running the installer.

Code:

The directory C:\Program Files (x86)\CQC\TmpNewDir\CQCData\Repository exists and contains one file - CIDCfgSrvRepo.CIDObjStore

What am I missing here  -I cant see what else I could do to correct this.

  ExecApp Action Failing
Posted by: Shaky - 10-30-2021, 05:38 PM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (2)

I am trying to use the ExecApp Action command from a button in one of my templates and am getting the error:

Code:
10/30 19:17:46-CQC-MasterPC, CQCIntfView, MainThread
{
    CQCKit, CQCIntfEng_ActEngine.cpp.726, Failed/Cannot Do, Error: 770/0/0
    An unknown exception occured during command processing. Offending cmd was:

"%(1)"
    System::ExecApp(C:\\Program Files\\CQC\\Helpe..., , , Show)
      <CQCIntfView> CQCIntfEng_ActEngine.cpp - 742
      <CQCIntfView> CQCIntfEng_View.cpp - 6132

Command used is:

System::ExecApp
    P1=C:\\Program Files\\CQC\\Helper Apps\\autohotkey\\click midleftcam.exe
    P2=
    P3=
    P4=Show

I have a feeling this is a bug that was introduced somewhere after 5.4.0. I use this for a Halloween thing so only noticing the issue now unfortunately.  I was able to roll back to that earlier version in a VM image to test quickly and the same action works there just fine. Hoping this can be looked into and validated by someone else on 6.0.x to start.

If it is in fact a defect I am not sure if any fixes are yet to come with CQC or not but if so perhaps it could be looked at and corrected sometime down the line.

Wondering if this has something to do with this issue I reported earlier as well and if so could maybe be fixed at the same time.
https://www.charmedquark.com/vb_forums/s...#pid158397.
and the potential root of that issue.  After reading again now I am not so sure that is related or not.

  Variable Action "Find" command or alternate
Posted by: Shaky - 10-28-2021, 09:07 PM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (3)

I am trying to parse through a long string of values to find a certain set of numbers and thought the find command would work well.

When I got to actually try and use Find I can't locate that command in the GVar/LVar list of commands. It's not there, or I have been staring at my screen so long I just can't see it. (on latest Open Source CQC release)  Is there something I am missing here as to where that command should be or has it been removed for some reason?  Is there any other command that is similar I am just missing?

The values in the variable I have are like this:

Code:
{"json":true,"source":"mqtt","has_timer":false,"timer_started":0,"timer_duration":0,"timer_remaining":0,"mode":"color","red":255,"green":68,"blue":49,"white":255,"gain":68,"effect":4,"transition":500,"power":30.80,"overpower":false}
I need to pull out the  Red, Green etc. values and store them / manipulate and then put back in and write back to this device I am using via MQTT.  I thought I had this cased by using GetSubStrng, but realized the index is also variable dependant on how big some of the values in the json text are.  i.e. 0 or 255 changes the index by 2.

Anyone have any advice on how to most efficiently pull these values out?

  CQSL Interface Driver connects but no control
Posted by: NightLight - 10-26-2021, 12:49 PM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (3)

Just wondering if anyone else has run into this. I have the CQSL Interface driver running on a machine with the Client Interface installed on it and control enabled. It connects and I can read the status of the Interface Client but I can not send commands or at least IV doesn't respond. I tell it to load a template or overlay and I get no response from the client. I've tried multiple machines/clients. Problem originally was on 5.4 moved to 6.02 and the problem is unchanged. Any ideas?

  Help with Log File Error
Posted by: karenlee - 10-20-2021, 12:49 AM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (4)

Hi

Can anyone help with this message?  It's so cryptic that I can't work out what's wrong.  Nothing on my server has been changed by me so I suspect windows has gone and done something on its own.  I have paused every driver but the message persists:

{
    CQCDataSrv, CQCDataSrv_FileAccServerImpl.cpp.3720, Failed/Authority, Error: 3010/0/0
    You do not have the necessary rights to perform the requested operation
      <CQCDataSrv> CIDOrb_ThisFacility.cpp - 611
      <CQCEventSrv> CQCRemBrws_DataSrvAccClientProxy.cpp - 376
      <CQCEventSrv> CQCEventSrv_ThisFacility2.cpp - 395
      <CQCEventSrv> CQCEventSrv_ThisFacility.cpp - 1820

}

What operation is it trying to do?

EDIT: If I try to pause any of the custom events (for example, a scheduled task that turns a light on at 6am), I get the following error: The event server could not be contacted.

I have rebooted several times, turned the firewall off, changed permissions, but nothing helps. To my knowledge, nothing on the computer has been changed in ages. Has my CQC install gotten corrupted somehow?

EDIT2: I have reinstalled version 6 and the problem persists, including the inability to pause any user events.

  Amazon AWS Message
Posted by: kblagron - 10-12-2021, 10:29 PM - Forum: CQC Support - Replies (1)

I received this message from Amazon AWS, and not really sure whether it affects me or not.  I do use both the CQC Echo and the Native Echo integration.

Any thoughts?

Code:
Hello,

You are receiving this message because we identified that your account created or updated or invoked Lambda functions on or after July 1, 2021.

AWS Lambda is extending the capability to track the current state of a function through its lifecycle to all functions [1]. With this change, you may need to update your CLI and/or SDK-based automation workflows around creating and updating functions by adding a check that the function became active before performing additional actions that operate on the function.

Previously, states have been used in two primary use-cases. Firstly, to move the blocking setup of VPC resources out of the path of function invocation. Secondly, to allow the Lambda service to optimize new or updated container images for container-image based functions, also before invocation. By moving this additional work out of the path of the invocation, customers see lower latency and better consistency in their function performance.
Infrastructure as code and deployment automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM), AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Serverless Framework,Hashicorp Terraform, AWS Chalice and Cloud Custodian already support states.

If you are using these tools and are already on the latest Software Development Kit (SDK), you do not need to take any action, and can stop reading now. If you are using an earlier SDK version, please update to the latest one.

We are rolling out this change over multi-phase periods to allow you to update existing tooling for deploying and managing Lambda functions. You can delay this change for your functions until December 5, 2021. Starting December 6, 2021, the delay mechanism expires and all customers see the Lambda states lifecycle applied during function create or update. Read this blog post [2] to learn about this change, timelines for different phases and a reference example on how to check your function state.

If you have any questions, please contact AWS Support [3].

  Stew_ia renewed interest in CQC.
Posted by: stew_ia - 10-03-2021, 03:23 PM - Forum: User Systems - Replies (2)

Well, quite a bit has happened in the CQC world since I last revisited.  Life happens.

  • I got stuck on Windows XP since I couldn't get the PlayWav triggered event to work on Windows 7.  My 18 year old Windows XP machine was still kicking but my Tech team was giving me grief for still running it.  The great news is PlayWav works now in Windows 10.  A talking house didn't do it for the WAF.  Playing a quick wav did. Score 1, that works great on Windows 10.
  • I was surprised to see Dean go open source on the product.  I know he poured heart and soul into it but their will be life after for him.  The market is hot for people that actually get it.  I wish him all of the luck on next endeavors.  I'm on startup 20+ and probably my last one for my career.  You just need to get knocked to the ground, get up the next morning and brush off the dust.  There is a win-win in there somewhere.
  • All of my original 2.2.4 stuff has been moved over to 6.0.2, limited as might have been.  A couple of bumps but all seems to be working.
  • I'm taking a shot at Echo native next.  I have a Nuvo GC and Elk installed, 14 Zones of audio with Keypads.  I'm feeling like the family is getting used to giving Alexa commands and most of the house has Amazon something or other installed.  We'll see.  The WAF factor with a dozen different remotes will be the challenge, streaming is interesting but not if you have to haul around 6 remotes.  If that all pans out, I'll be ripping Nuvo keypads out of the walls and getting out the sheetrock patch and paint.
Cheers to all.  Looking forward to next steps.

PS: Dean, I'm a 30+ year unix/linux guy and happy to help with open source if possible.  I'm also doing my last startup so time is still a little limited..
