Just came across CrystalDiskInfo as I was looking for a tool I could use on my PC to read the H.D.D. uptime info.

I had a 1TB drive that I just stopped using as a result of the Synology exercise. I thought I could use that elsewhere. Pulled up the uptime. Um, maybe not, its just a little past MTBF.

make sure you get the Shizuku edition...
it has little anime people on it... not sure how that is better, but it is...
but yea, CDI is great...

but so what if your disk is past MTBF... it is mean time... the fact that the drive lasted this long is a good sign... assuming it doesn't have a crap load of reallocated sectors it is fine... use it...
preferably in a non-critical/backed up often usage... just to be safe, but still it is fine...
well, its only a 1TB drive. 6 years old at that. Not really worth the time.
