Hi I'm about to make the jump to CQC and need to have quite a few drivers written, to control my equipment. I have been in discussion with one of the key members on this forum about having some drivers Witten, and he has provided me with a quote.

As this amount is quite on the high side, he has suggested that I post on these forums to find out whether any other CQC users with the same equipment will be interested in pooling funds to have these drivers written.

Hence if you have the same equipment and are looking to have a driver written, can you please pm me for some further information.

The list of 6 drivers I'm looking to have written are listed below

1) Toshiba HD DVD XA1

Driver Functionality: All one-way: Power On/Off,Stop,Play,Skip Forward, Skip Backward, Menu



2) Gefen 4/2 HDMI Switcher

Driver Functionality: One-way: Select input 1-4



3) Sharp 52" LCD LC-52XD1E

Driver Functionality: Two-way: TV Direct Channel, Input Selection A, Input Selection B, Volume, Mute. One-way: Channel Up/Down. Note: Protocol indicates only Power Off command available, not Power On, and possibly not 2-way....will have to experiment to find out if that's true


4) Sony G90 CRT Projector

Driver Functionality: Two-Way: Power On/Off, Pic Muting, Input Select



5) JVC RS1 LCOS Projector

Driver Functionality: Two-Way: Power On/Off, Input Select



6) Anthem D2 Sound Processor

Driver Functionality: (Where applicable, controls apply to Main Zone, Zone 2, and Zone 3) Two-Way: Power On/Off, Source Select, Volume Set, AM/FM Tuner Frequency. Note, the following are definitely 1-way, and may be 2-way: Mute On/Off

The RS1 driver is in the 2.2 release (which is in late beta now and about to be released.) So you can check that one off.

A one way driver for the Geffin switch would probably be trivial to do, so if you can live with one way it would probably only take a couple hours. If you want two way, it always is takes a good bit more work.

Taking a quick look at the rs 232 protocol, I could probably do this one in PDL for you free of charge. I am considering getting a different HD DVD player, and the amount of time it would take would be quite small.

I am about to embark on a sharp aquos LCD driver soon for a mate (once my house is finished), so if time is not a problem and you can wiat, it will probably work.

As for the switcher, use the generic driver that I posted on the forums and just send the whole command.

The Geffen one is pretty simple, but the doc you linked is not very clear. If you can hook up hyperterminal and send it 1<CR> and see if it switches to 1 and then 2<CR> and see if it switches to two and so forth, then I could whip out a CML driver in less than an hour for that.

PS....I'm going to start a driver's request thread in the driver forum for just these types of requests. I'll put yours in there first.

I lost track of which Toshiba models are which, but I bought an RCA awhile back that uses the same protocol as the 1st gen Toshiba model.

Let me know if this works for you. If it does, I believe I've added some more functionality to it, so I'll post or send you the updated version.

I will Pm you , i'm intersted in the Sharp 45, and 52 the Toshiba DVD, the Anthem D2 and also would like to add the Motorola Cable box DCT 6214 and the Axis Camera server to the list.

I'm very interested in the Statement D2 driver. YGM.

Yes, but unfortunately I won't be where the D2 is for several more months (away at the moment). I'll be willing to do any testing required at that time. I'm also willing to split any development cost with others interested in this driver.
