Okay guys and gals heres my problem.. I just purchased a Fujitsu 3400 off of Flee Bay. My Intentions are to use this for home automation but wanted to get the Tablet PC up and running first! The system has no operating system on it when delivered. I do have a USB DVD Drive external But That Wont Do Squat Untill I Get Windows Loaded. Soooo How Do I Get System Loaded? I Dont Have A Floppy Drive Either. I Do However Have Every Opp System That Windows Has Including Tablet Addition, What Would Also Be The Best System For The 3400 Anyhelp Would Be Greatly Appreciated Thanks!! ;-) NO1
can you copy the install cd to the HDD and then try and install it from there?
Dude:

1) Welcome
2) Why did you buy a 3400 with no O/S?
3) Go buy a floppy drive
4) Search here for posts from (madpoet?) - someone talked about how to install W2K.

a lot of them are selling them that way now... I have one like that also.. if you have 2 like that.... remove the hdd and make a clone of it. then you have the os on both.

If I remember so far back, I used a PCMCIA reader for a 1 GB memory card (from my camera) to load enough to get the device on the network under Win98, then copied the install files for XP to the HD.
I can send you instructions for the Win2K install if you need them. But with no floppy or backpack drive it becomes more difficult.
I've just got a Fujitsu 3500 and I'm on the lookout for a cheap (cost) power supply for it (can't use it yet). Something that isn't the $50-60 people seem to want for one. Would appreciate it if anyone sees one if they could let me know :-)

Mad, could you send 'em to me? I've got a 3500, which actually has Win2k installed already...but then I got security smart and decided it'd be pretty stupid of me to connect a PC to my network that has who-knows-what-else installed on it. So I'm gonna wipe it and re-install Win2k.

I've got a USB DVD drive, but I don't have a fujitsu CD or floppy. I'm not afraid of opening something up and pulling guts out, I just need to know what to do.

Never heard back from madpoet....does anyone else have the install routines for Win2k on a 3400/3500 with no external floppy?
