So the fan went out on my small computer running the MS. It was down for three days while I replaced it. When I got it back up and running my scheduled events are not working.
When I go into try and edit them to see what is going on I get this error.

How do I go about figuring out what is happening?
V5.3.958

That would typically mean that the event server isn't running. If you look in the task list (show processes for all users) do you see CQCEventSrv.exe in there?
Of course also check the logs to see if anything related to the above failures are showing up.

It is not running. I rebooted a couple of times and also restarted the services twice. Do I need to re install or is there a way to just start the CQCEventSrv?
It may be that whatever happened whacked the installer config. Run the installer again and uncheck the 'user previous settings' options and step through them all and make sure they are correct.

I did that. Now it errors out and doesn't complete the install. It tells me to look for an error file in:
....user/appdata/local/temp
Here is the file:

So I just tried to install v5.4.914. Got the same failure:

It looks like they are not the right format or corrupted. Did you by any chance manually copy some files from a previous version or something?? Is it just one that's failing or all of them? If it's all of them, then it is way more likely that it's some sort of versioning issue. If it's just a couple then it could be corruption. Can you edit triggered events, images, templates, etc...?

I didn't do any file copying. It was all events - both scheduled and triggered. Everything else I was able to edit.
I tried again to install v5.4.914. Got the same error about not being able to complete the install. I re cycled the CQVAppservice. CQC then loaded and I was then able to get into the events. However even though I was trying to install 5.4.914, the actual working version is 5.3.958 which was the original version when all this started.
I am glad I have it working again, but a bit concerned about being able to update to newer versions, i.e. when you post the OS version.
It could continue if a file fails to convert. OTOH, if it goes ahead even if it can't convert files, you are going to lose work. So it's being conservative. Better to back off and fail than lose stuff, so that you can figure out why it's failing. It is expected if it fails that you will remain on the original version.
You are on a beta, so it's possible that some incremental issue happened at the time and most folks never hit it because it just lasted for a single beta version or something. I don't think there's anything special about that beta, other than it looks like it was the last one before 5.4. So maybe try going to 5.4.0 first, which is what everyone else at the time would have done. It may be that the issue is with skipping over those versions.
Let it create a backup for you just in case of course.
