The Easter bunny just dropped off a new LG OLEDC9 model TV. I'm going to dig into getting it connected to CQC. It has a Service only headphone type jack port. Will need to cobble together a serial port adapter to test with for now. I'm a bit nervous as to whether I'll be able to get serial control or not with the service only statement. Going to start there first as I don't see any IP based drivers for CQC yet. Some discussion from 2013 but nothing recent that I could see. Time to do some googling on Serial control interfaces and LG.
This TV has Google Home and Alexa support too. I assume if google can turn the TV on/off then there must be as way for CQC to interface with any luck... (Although I have not tested that yet, but assume it can turn on/off). If anyone has any recent LG series TV experience with CQC please let me know.
Congratulations! My wife surprised me with a 2019 LG 65" OLEDC9 Sept last year for our home theater. Interested in what you find, should be close if not the same. I have it under control of Harmony Hub so worst case I can use that. Direct control would be better though...
There's a number of LG TV drivers that ship with CQC. Look for the LG (Universal) driver when you do the Add Driver in the AI. You will need a RS232 cable with a mini plug connector to plug into the TV.
Thanks Guys, with the pinouts in the manual and a set of sacrificial headsets I hacked together a serial cable. My old LG TV was also Serial controlled but had a DB9 port so I just made a 3.5mm headphone male end to DB9 adapter. I plugged it in and was able to power it on/off with the same CQC driver I had loaded up for the old Plasma TV it replaced... Suspect it's the universal driver mentioned but will have to check. That was way too easy for once. I'm sure when I play around a bit more I'll find out the inputs don't line up but maybe not. Nice that LG has this protocol and seems to stick to it. I'll play around more when I have a chance, but early indications are promising for serial control. Also curious what the Google home will be able to do.
@batwater - I have the 55"C9. I bought it thinking I would try it out and if not a huge upgrade might return. It's a bit of a pricey TV compared to the TCL, Hisense and other economical models but I think I see where the extra $'s are going to now. I'm seriously impressed with the picture so far. Got a decent deal I think before the 2020 sets are out so pretty sure I'm keeping this one now. You must have a number of hours on yours. How do you like it after having for a few months now? Any burn-in issues?

No burn in issues here so far; no gaming system attached. We love love love the picture quality!!! You do get what you pay for.
Have the C9 in our home theater "The Grotto" (no windows) in the basement. 2 pair of reclining theater seats from Costco and a Yamaha RX-2050 driving 9.2 surround sound to complete the movie experience. Wife hung up heavy black cloth behind the TV to hide the media equipment's glowing lights, the C9 just disappears into the wall.
I knew I had done well with the audio - we were watching Gravity with our two Great Pyrenees and where at the beginning of the movie when the satellite is blown up both dogs tried to track the debris flying by overhead. Win!!!

I've been using it on my Samsungs for a while now.
Just yesterday I got a 65" CX. I already have a 65" B7 which I've been controlling with RS-232. Now I'm going to have a TV in a location where I don't have any more wire in the wall for an RS-232 port.

The somewhat surprising thing I found is that IP communication with the TV must be encrypted. Is this something that could be done with CML? I'm guessing not, but if so I'd love a pointer about where to start.
You don't have any encryption in CML either.
GlobalCache makes a Wireless to Serial option - just not sure it works with the current driver. I know some have used it on the wired version (GC-100).
I would be interested in the IP Driver as well. I have two LG IP TV's that are controlled through their USB ports serially, which is a no go for turning power on, although the pdf file (attached) shows how to get to the IP Control Setup which allows you to turn on WOL, so that may be an option for me to turn the TV on, and then use the USB to Serial option.
I took a quick look at the website that discusses how to do this. The IP prrotocol uses AES with PBKDF2. With the examples provided, I would have to believe that CML could do it, but just guessing really.
