Uploading to PWS in Weather Underground
#21
I just gave it a try, but none of the floating point values had any decimal points in this particular case. It's a very well rounded weather day I guess. I'll try it again later. The values stored were the same as received, but since the only changes folks are seeing are in the decimal bits, that doesn't tell us much.

So I just tried it again. The baro that came down was 30.03. That's what ended up in the field and what shows up in the IV when displayed, which would be via a numeric field text widget. So that value at least didn't get changed from what was received from the web site. The other two were still even integral values.

I don't have access to CQC at the moment however; I will work more this weekend on this problem. I'm pretty sure I'm using the correct widget.

So, I'm not sure where to take this next. This is what I have checked:

1. My IV "Field Numeric Text" widget displays a baro reading of 30.03 as of 1:05PM.
2. The field browser reports the same time and baro reading as the IV.
3. The WU API feed reports at 1:05PM a baro of 29.96
4. My weather station displays a baro reading of 29.96 as of 1:05PM.

I went into the Interface Template Editor and created a new Field Numeric Text widget and set the attributes to the WU driver Curbaro field and it reads the same as my existing template - 30.03....

I created another instance of the WU driver with a different moniker and then pulled the Curbaro field and still got the same result of 30.03.

Any other ideas short of upgrading to a newer version? I'm currently on 4.4.1

There's no mention of any fix of this type in the 4.5 beta release thread. Of course something that smallish might have failed to get noted, but I don't think so. I just compared the 4.4.x weather underground driver with the current one and the only changes are related to the V2 field naming conventions stuff. Nothing related to storage of values was changed.

I could always try forcing a value of 29.96 to look like it has been received and see what happens downstream from there.

I just noticed during testing that my baro in the driver was showing 29.87, so I went and checked the raw JSON data and it was 29.87 as well, so it matches again what is being provided in the JSON, for a very non-round type of number.
