Maybe important for Harmony Hub users?

Something about update 206 disabling some important features.

https://www.reddit.com/r/homeautomation/...tegration/

Currently everyone first talks to their server to get some info, then directly connect to the hub. It looks like they are now yanking that ability to talk to the hub locally and have a completely different all cloud based API that is websockets based, but perhaps not documented, at least so far.

Oh well, that's why you should never use cloud based stuff. They can do this to you any time. If they actually bother to expose the websockets API we can look at it, but in the meantime, best look to block updates if you can.

So, further discussion seems to indicate they won't re-enable the local connection. They came out with a butt covering release about security issues as a justification for killing it, despite the fact that you had to connect to their servers first to get a security token to talk to the box. And they aren't going to expose the websocket API. Folks might retro it to some degree, but of course it's formally not public so they can (and may) just change it on every new update to keep people from using it directly.

So, it seems to me, this product is pretty much dead for the automation world. I'd be looking at a GC-100 with the attached serial receiver or something.

That is great news I just picked one up a few weeks ago and just last week started to try and set up the driver when I found out they had taken this away now maybe it will work again.

I can confirm that updating the hub to the latest beta firmware does fix the issue and the CQC driver will connect to it again. Just follow the instructions in the linked article above.

Yep, finally got around to it myself today, a little bit of work to plug everything together but good to go again...
