That would be my guess yes.

Mine says Video 1 & Video2/Component

So Vid 1 is composite

Yeah I think you are right.  I looked at my manual and the ports on the back and it is simply single plug .  No individual RGB coax inputs any more on the back of this new TV so has to be composite.

OK, I got hooked up to one tonight and got a bunch more infrastructure in place and got to the point of doing a power query and getting a response and storing it away. So that's a good chunk of it done. I'll pick it up some more tomorrow.

That is great!  If I can get the TV on IP control then I can get rid of IR control completely  I suspect I am not alone on this either.

AS stated I use the generic IP control at the moment for basic control

As a side note, I finally got Alexa to control the TV directly by voice last night (some network issues were stopping it previously I think).

There is an Alexa app for the TV by Sony and a skill was created by Sony for the TV. Give the TV a name (mine is Living Room TV - I think its a predefined list of names) and you can tell it to turn on/off, change inputs, volume etc directly from Alexa - happy with that now

"Alex, turn on the living room TV"

I didn't get a chance to work on this today. I was banging away on the triggered event stoppage issue that was introduced in 5.3.0. That I think is taken care of now so I can get back to this tomorrow.

I sent a 1.0 version off to Mykel for some testing. If that works, it's just a matter of adding the little per-model class for any given class to support a new model.

^ Pun intended???

Its is going well. Couple of issues.

Mute does not work.

Volume change (AdjustVolume) sends Volume field to 0 until the TV notifies it of its new volume level. Field value needs to either stay at old value or update immediately with new value.

IR will be tested later when I can actually see the TV.
