Weather - tom - 12-30-2018

I was wondering what options we have for a weather driver?
Thanks

I recently did one for OpenWeatherMap.org. It has a couple limitations, given that I used the free data tier. Unless folks are willing to pay for it, we can't get access to some of the info such as text forecasts. Otherwise it has the standard info.

Hi,
What is the issue with Wunderground? I believe that is the one I originally configured.

Thank you

IBM bought them and they are cutting off individual accounts. They are moving towards only support companies.

Interesting, I just checked and its still working for me. I wonder when it will be cut off for me. Thank you

RE: Weather - ghurty - 12-31-2018

I just read on their blog that today is the last day.
I did find this other weather API https://darksky.net/dev they provide 1000 calls per day free, anything more then that is $0.0001 per call. I do not know if the info they provide is better than openweathermap, but it may be worth looking into.

Thank you

Also, do you have a link to openweathermaps driver guide, I dont see it on the regular driver guide page.

THank you

It's not on the web site, but it should be in the shipped versions for those since I implemented it. So use your local help to see it. If it's not in the weather category in your local help, then you are on a version before I did it presumably.

Thank you. Found it.

Dean DarkSky weather support would be awesome!!!  Their hyper local precipitation forecast is spot on, been using the site / mobile app for years to predict (very accurately I might add) start / stop of rain events.
