what this does is supposedly allow third party products like CQC become native integrations. so no more Skill word.

Dean, please, please, please read up on this and see if it would work. :-D

I read through that yesterday. I read that it currently only understands thermostats and lights.

Aside from that I 2nd the native connection request!!!

What's the point? If it can only understand a couple types of devices, then you would have to still use the skill keyword to access everything else, which would make it very inconsistent.

I have an AppleLink t-shirt somewhere and a pair of still functional Bose bookshelf speakers with the Apple logo in the middle of the grill circa same time frame, hmmm...

Old timers will remember that service back when Apple tried to head to head with Compuserve.

But it will be a long time before they are remotely sufficient to cover all the possibilities. And of course it'll be device specific, not activity specific, which is the real advantage when using with an automation system. I can't see how it can do anything but complicate matters when you try to explain to the family units, well you have to say it this way if you want to do these things, and this other way if you want to do those things.
