Auto-Generated Interface questions
#31
Ah. That is what those option do. I will check it out. I will also post some shots once I integrate irrigation and squeeze.
Thanks,

Dean - One other thought concerning the tiles interface; Could you add the ability to number the tiles and then they would follow that order when the interface in auto generated? Or maybe this is a list in the generator of all the tiles that will be built. You could order the list prior to generation. THis includes the built in tiles like Clock.
Thanks,

Maybe for later. For now, I don't want to change that, because a quite complex bit of it. For now I just want to add more functionality to it for 4.6.

I've fixed the sizing up of the tiles overlay to handle the extra tiles. Actually the calculation was being done but it never got set back on the tiles overlay.

Dave,
Can we see what you finished up with. I'm running the autopatch as well and am interested in how you handled everything.

Ron.
I will post some shots by the weekend. I ended up with a cross between the auto gen interface and my older interface. I also integrated both iTunes and squeeze. Currently my autopatch is off line so I need to figure that out when I return back home later in the week.
Thanks,

Dean - In the Date/Time tile, consider adding some indicator of the month/year you are viewing. You can scroll the month by hand but you quickly get lost.

...Also, keep forgetting to tell you that anything that is a circle becomes Egg shaped at 1024x768. Easily fixable, but thought you should know. I can not determine which direction is not scaling correctly. The Egg Shape is vertical being the long way. (if that makes any sense)
Thanks,

...Also #2; If you click on the thermometer bulb on the weather scene, a write error comes up. Apparently the click is attempting to write to the field "Weather.WEATH#CurTemp"

I do not know if that is an interface or driver error.
Thanks,

That's just the nature of the beast. It doesn't try to maintain aspect ratio on the images, because that could make a hash of the intent of the user. The images are scaled exactly as you request. So if you take the original, which is something around 1.6:1, and scale it to 1:33:1, it's going to be horizontally squished.

I can't make assumptions about such things. In other words, the relationship of images in either direction may be (and often is) important. Scaling the images separately from the rest of it would mess that up. The may suddenly overlap or not touch anymore and whatnot.

If you don't want that, then you would need to not use all of the screen in one of the directions. When the new resolution dialog comes up, it shows the original 1280x800 size. Figure out which of your axes is the one that fits best. In this case it would be the horizontal. Set the option to scale the horizontal and adjust the vertical to match. Set the horizontal to 1024. It will adjust the vertical to what was maintain the aspect ratio overall.

If you then generate, you will have a 'letterboxed' display, where there are black bars top and bottom (well, black in the auto-gen stuff since it uses black as the background.) But everything will have retained it AR.

If you want to then 'cheat' a little in order to get more vertical, adjust it upwards a bit, but not the whole way. You'll still get a little distortion, but only as much as you cheat. So you can figure out what works best for your tastes.

Oh, OK. That shouldn't be happening. I'll look at that.
