Official 2.0 Issues thread
I like that you are trying to make the z-wave driver extensible.

My idea for the xPLZWave driver is to write an xPL Library in CML and then document the library. From there I will probably create a lighting driver and a thermostat driver. I was taking your advice that device types should be split up where possible. With xPL I should be able to create a driver for each device category. So I will have a Lighting Driver and a HVAC driver and eventually I may end up with a Sirius Radio Driver and a Window Treatment Driver. The key to it all is to get a nice xPL Library written first which makes creating these other drivers very easy. This way I won't be the only one who can write support for new device types. Keeping them seperate allows me to keep the field count of the drivers to a minimum and allows them to be more organized. Most people will only have one to two Thermostats in their network which means I could put 5 fields per themstats and not have to worry about it getting cluttered from multipe tstats. I can do one field per lighting device in the lighting driver. States would either be a Card4 or Boolean.

I am about 2% done the xPL Library now. It's a little tricky since I don't understand networking very well and am trying to learn as I go.

Personally, unless you are doing it just for fun, it may be a waste of time since I'll get to this eventually. Though, if you can work out some of the details, that might save me some time.

Funny you should put it as "doing it for fun". When I was talking with him the other evening, it didn't sound like he was having "fun".

Alrighty then... 2.0.14 is released. I'm going to lock this thread for reference purposes. I won't start a specific 2.0.14 thread probably. This release has been pretty vetted at this point and any issues can just be considered general issues. Later, once the next beta becomes available, I'll start a discussion thread for it.
