3.3.6 driver issue
#1
I did not see the beta discussion thread.

I recently updated my OS to Win 2008 64 bit. at the same time, I upgraded to the latest beta.

Sometimes now, my drivers do not load. when I look at them in the admin tool, they are gone. it seems like if I restart a couple of times, eventually they will come back.

I do not see any errors in the log monitor during startup, and the driver init seems to be quick.

Any suggestions?

Edit: a little more info. it seems like a reboot is when I have the most success. before the reboot, if I try starting up any of the apps (admin tool, intf. viewer, etc) I get an error: error while setting single process instance information

Folks have had kind of random issues with Win7 64 bit. If Windows Server 2008 is the server version of the Windows 7 platform, then I would assume it's probably the same issue. Our product is 32 bit and should run in a 32 bit virtual environment the 64 bit versions of Windows, and so it should work identically. But obviously that's not the case. It's unclear what the issue is, but I'm not currently in a position to really even debug it since I don't have a 64 bit Windows 7 environment here to try it.

I thought I would post on how I got around this issue.

First, I had to use the 32-bit version of ODBC to create the system dsn (odbcad32.exe. this is in your syswow folder).

I then changed CQC and the MyMovies SQL Server services to use admin accounts to log in.

At this point, CQC was trying to connect, but I was getting an error in the logs saying the account could not query the table.

Next, I had to install the SQL Server client tools, and I went into the DB, and added that admin user as a DBO for the MyMovies DB. this resolved the issue.
