Official 2.2 beta thread
Dean,
I cannot use an underscore in a GVar. I thought you allowed that (again)
I am using the latest beta 2.2.4, which is the same as the released version.
Stephan
I thought that was driver monikers that we were dealing with that on? The variable names are still just alpha numeric. I could allow hyphen and underscore in the next release I guess. But it's probably best not to allow hyphens I guess, in case I should ever have to do a parser for action text.

Oh, wait I get it. You can use hyphens and underscores. It's the little name getter dialog that wasn't extended to allow this. If you type it in directly in the parameter entry field, it'll be accepted, but the name helper dialog doesn't allow it.

OK, I'll update that for the next version. Sorry.

I just installed 2.2.5 about 30 mins ago. I decided to work some more on a driver that I have brewing so I started the Admin Interface and went into the Field Browser. As I was scrolling through, all of the drivers went unavailable twice in pretty rapid succession so I decided to check the $LoadTime for my loaded drivers to see which one(s) cycled. Every single driver had the original load time except the UIRT drivers (I have two of them). I'm pretty sure this isn't a 2.2.5 bug but this is the first time I've had a clean slate so I knew that everything was restarted very recently.

The system logs have 4 messages that *might* have something to do with this:
The server at 10.10.11.200:13507 has closed the connection (process: CQCClient Thread: CIDOrbClientSpoolThread_5 Severity: API Failed)
Other side (10.10.11.200:13507) is too busy to accept data (process: CQCClient Thread: CIDOrbClientSpoolThread_5 Severity: API Failed)

While reviewing this, I noticed something else that is definitely a bug. The Time for these messages as displayed in the Admin Interface log query is displaying times improperly. Time: 10/09 06:32:45 implies 6am to me but I've verified the times on all 3 systems involved.
Hmmm... That is CQCServer complaining, and the errors would seem to indicate a backup of processing network data on the CQCServer side. Do you have any development drivers loaded or anything?

2.2.5 loaded. So far no magic smoke has been lost.

The VK011 temperature monitor runs there but it hasn't changed in 6+ months. The B&K CT driver also is a beta but it's been stable. None of those drivers show a load time more than a few seconds after the host up time.

Is everything already at this point? You will also get that if some drivers changes it's set of fields. So if you have some driver that talks to a device to get it's fields, and it was a little slower coming up, that will cause the field browser to cycle itself wrt to all of the other drivers on that CQCServer, because that CQCServer reported that the field/driver configuration changed. So it may have just been something like that.
