Anyone ever write a Sony TV IP driver?

Not as far as I know.

I need one as well - both for my system and a friends.

Its on my long list of drivers to do, but if someone else gets to it before me I would not complain

two protocols - simple and other. Simple works well , we can even turn the TV on via IP command.

Protocol is attached in this post

The low level protocol isn't the stupidest one ever created. And that's saying something for a TV. And it even sends async notifications, so it wouldn't have to be polled.

well for now I guess I  will have to use my global cache until if and when a driver is written.

I edited the wrong msg above. What was supposed to be part of the msg you responded to was:

"If you want, I can create a basic outline of a driver using some dummy data that will handle all the basic scenarios. Since you have one, you could then just add the rest of the commands and notifications and test them out. That would just be more of the same."

You can use the generic IP driver.  I do that now to turn the TV off at night.  You can easily have one way control sending the raw commands to the TV

you give me too much credit Smile .  I don't even know where to start.  If you want to share a snippet of how you do that I would give it a go.

My Hunter Douglas controller hasn't arrived (and I'm not sure if it's shipped yet either), so if one of you wants to open up his TV I'd be willing to get a basic V2 compatible driver done.
