RadioRa2 HVAC Issues
#11
BTW, there's no guarantee that this will fix the issue. I'm taking a guess at what the problem was. So it's possible it's still there. If so, you might need to open your RA2 system up to me temporarily to test against. You can change the name/password after I'm done, so it's safe enough.

Though some logging would probably help. The stuff you posted previously didn't seem to actually contain the anything related to the failure, so another attempt at catching one of the actual errors in the logs can be tried first.

OK I am on 5.2.920 now.
I deleted the driver and reloaded.

Similar issues as before but now it recovers so we are getting closer.

When I change SetPnt in CQC Admin, it changed in CQC Admin AND updated the Lutron app instantly
Then went to ???? but now it recovers and reconnects within 10 seconds.
Not sure what the "17" is.
It returns "17" no matter what temp I choose.

The log also captured an instance of the CurrenTemp changing.  Same issue
Not sure what the "22" is.

Given the numbers it seems like maybe you have the thermostat set to report C temps instead of F? 17C is 63F. 22C is 71F, both of which seem likely to be about correct for those things. If you do the high and it says something like 26 is out of range, that would pretty much prove it I think, since that's about 78 degrees.

You tell the driver what to expect in the config file, and I assume in the software you tell it what to report?

Well, the protocol sure seems to imply that the values are always reported in F scale, but those sure look like C temps. I assume you couldn't have left out the temp scale in the config file since it should throw an error if it's not there. But, if you did manage not to indicate it in the file and get away with that, it would end up being C. So check the config file and see if you indicated the F scale.

I confirmed it is F in my config file (Below)  I also confirmed that it is F in the Lutron software.

I was thinking the same thing that is was a F vs C issue but the error values (17 & 22) never changed no matter the SetPnt I entered or the current temp

It looks like there is different action numbers for F and C in the Lutron protocal doc. Is the driver using the correct ones?

I think it is:
Current Temp 1=F and 15=C
Setpoint 2=F and 16=C

I am still thinking it is not a F vs C thing because the error value does not change

I really appreciate your help. I hope we can find a solution.

Doh! I'm looking for both sets, and I'm supposed to be taking one and ignoring the other based on what F/C value you selected, but I'm not. So I get one good set of values and one bad. So that's why it probably recovers eventaully is that it sees the F value last at some point.

Let me fix this and I'll post a driver pack for you to try. I guess the one I have doesn't send the C's at all.

Import this guy, then do a reconfigure on the driver to pick up the change.

Awesome I am excited to try it when I get home.

I have another RR2 question on events.

I want to capture a button press on a RR2 keypad and trigger a shade action.
I added the button in the client interface and selected Y to trigger
When I press the button I see it below

TIME: 01:03:01
cqsl.header
{
    v=1
    sysid=5102052CAD14814E-0E8F1D62AAFF468B
    class=cqsl.useract
    source=cqsl.dev:Lutron_RR2-V2
}
cqsl.actinfo
{
    evtype=ButtonPress
    evdata=Keypad_Test-1
}

But I can’t get it to trigger my action. I know it’s probably a syntax thing but I can’t figure it out
Attached is what I tried

Thoughts?

Set the filter to IsUserActionFor, then set the moniker to the Lutron_RR2-V2 moniker, and the type to ButtonPress. Inside the action you'll have to check for that specific keypad, so you'll need to get the trigger info, so something like:

Code:
TrigEvent::GetUserActionVals(LVar:Type, LVar:Value)
If (System::Equals(%(LVar:Value), Keypad_Test-1))
   // Do what you want here
EndIf
