Aeotec USB stick, existing zWave (v3) driver?
#1
Having issues getting my minix baby PC to recognize the VRCOP via a USB->Serial adapter. Noticed there was a v3 zWave driver which says USB.

Does the Aeotec stick work with that one? If so i'll just order it now, for $45 i'm not going to bang my head against the wall.

If any of the ZWaveUSB3 driver is there, it's by accident. It may just be the manifest managed to get into the install image, but the actual files shouldn't be there. So that was a mistake if it is showing up. That's the one I'm working on now.

And then, depression set in :-)

Ok. FYI, i'm going to road test using the Minix $180 4GB RAM/32GB SSD as a hardware controller running CQC-MS. If I can get zWave working directly off its USB port, no serial adapter needed, i'm going to declare victory and sell the ISY. I need to replace the current minix usage but that's another thread i'm about to post.

That gives users a $450 controller (with $199 for Bronze plus $45 stick) that can do WAY more than just an ISY alone for an incremental $100.

There is a RPi product that will allow you to connect USB devices over the network. You load the driver onto the MS and then the Rpi has the USB device connected and wham bam thank you mam, you have a remote/networked USB port.

Its been mentioned here before in a thread as well.

Cheaper solution to the Minix by a long way.

PS - I have one in operation here at work for Citect dongles and some other security dongles and its been working perfectly.
