WebRIVA, domains, Security Certs
#21
dumb question: Couldn't anyone without doing any work hit that URL, with the username & password for any of their users, and pull up any template? IE, shouldn't everyone get a cert? (can't remember if there's an SSL required upon CQC install)

They could, but they could already do the same with the IV, so it's no different really. If you have a valid CQC login, you have a valid CQC login. Of course if you make all of you non-admin users limited accounts, they can only get to their assigned template.

You can only have certificates per-domain name. They really are just to insure you are connecting to your own server, and to encrypt comms. They don't have really anything to do with user authentication.

Just got one from no-ip.com. For my CSR, it's asking what my server is. Shockingly, CQC isn't one of the options. What do I put?

You have to have a public domain name, usually folks use one of the dynamic DNS companies. The certificate has to be tied to that public domain name.

I signed up for a domain name via no-ip.com, and used them to get an SSL. It's in that screen that I don't know what to type in for the CSR.

JKMonroe, will look into what MMC & certificates snap-in means, lets see if I can figure it out.

Well, I got through most of it, have an email with the various certificate stuff in the body. Now trying to figure out how to install it and the intermediate certificate.

This stuff is like reading stereo instructions. Who writes these "instructions", and how far down the list is "Human" in terms of languages spoken?

ok i think i have it installed on the HA-PC, but now I need to see what to type into the CQC installation box. Thing is, I can't pull up help docs as that's within the AI.

What exactly do I put into the Certificate box?
