Very weird its working now i tried my ip and it worked. then i tried gameserver and its working now also. i took the brackets off also around user and password.

Zane,
192.168.2.118 is my CQC servers internal ip address.
:8181 is my  CQC webserver port I picked when i installed CQC webriva.
replace my two above with your ipaddress and port number.

I would say Brackets were the issue. try again with them and it should prove the theory.

tested with the brackets and it did'nt work. thank you for all your help. cqc is an amazing system

awsome its working on my cell s8 also. ill work now on making it secured.

I didn't catch on in your examples above that you were literally using the brackets. I'll update the docs to make it clear that [user] and [pw] are just place holders.

This is where I believe examples are extremely important.

While it may appear obvious to you and experienced users will understand that a url most likely will not have the unusual character there will always be someone to show you otherwise.

using examples that are very very clear will help the most. Explain what the variables are and why you have used them. I get tripped up by this so many times at work with documentation. just when i think I have it idiot proof for the operators, they go and prove me wrong and that they are bigger idiots that i originally thought....

Yes i agree.
Being in the military for 20 years and dealing with new soldiers. when i give classes on a piece of equipment I always have my seniors look over it for how its presented and grammer then ill have a brand new soldier actually put it to test by my write up.

When things settle down hopefully Dean will add user/password invalid dialog popup to the enhancement list.

I was thinking more just a status line on that connecting screen, to show what it thinks is going on, since it can change over time.

A login popup would be nice.
