Keep system from sleeping
#1
Is there a way so that when the IV is active it prevents the computer from going to sleep.

Right now if I am using the tablet and watching a movie, in order to use any of the remote buttons programmed in CQC the computer has to wake up and then CQC has to connect to the server. Kind of defeats the purpose of using it for control.
Thanks

so far I have found no solution I truly like...
you can (or at least you could?) set the tablet to never sleep...
but then the lights/glare would bother me so I turned it off...
I switched to just using an old fashioned button based IR remote, and then CQC automatically adjusts things from there...
but then you miss out on all the cool data/metadata/everything at your fingertips....
NOTE: As one wise professional something once stated, I am ignorant & childish, with a mindset comparable to 9/11 troofers and wackjob conspiracy theorists. so don't take anything I say as advice...

What hardware platform is the IV running on, Windows, iPad or what?

Win 10 tablet

Okay then one possible way is you could install EventGhost and the CQC driver on the tablet and message EventGhost to dim your screen when trigger occurs e.g. no movement in the room for period of time.  Reverse, you could wake up if movement detected.  You would need to have a motion detector in the room for the movement.  You could also build a timer to dim after x-time of being active.

Here's link to EG trigger info.  Not done this myself but should not be too difficult.  This uses MQTT as the trigger input, CQC EventGhost driver interface would be substituted here.

It's a bit complicated but is a viable option

The IV supports a screen blanker that will also turn off the screen, after some period of inactivity. If you set the tablet not to go to sleep, and use the IV blanker, that would I think be sufficient.

You could also maybe install the cqc client and run powercfg commands to change the sleep timer.

Can you expand on this please? I do have the client installed - am running the IV.
Thanks

I think it's the Generic App Control driver, lets you execute commands on a client, you have to have the tray app installed/running, not just the IV.
