Default *Sniff*. IVB's new screens, sans art

'Tis a sad sad day. I've now got so much functionality, the art is getting in the way. I had to redo my screens to be a little cleaner, which meant taking out the art from 90% of the screens.

Here's the shots so far. I haven't yet exported and put them up anywhere for downloading as i'm still shaking out a few bugs from the xantech->concerto cutover. I'm also still mucking with the general look/feel/flow.

Why not keep it, but lower the opacity on it so that it's more like a watermark than a vibrantly colored picture?

Meaning, keep the art background?

You could try it. Keep it, but make it very translucent with a white or maybe pale gray background, which would wash it out so that it's not so distracting, but it would still be there.

These look great.

"I've now got so much fxnality, the art is in the way." Well, there are certainly worse problems to have ..... heh.

I think the only answer is ... more screen real estate! There's a guy on EBay selling 17" ELO touchscreens. Imagine what you could put on there. Just kidding, as I'm sure the WAF rating on that is in the negative numbers, but it's an interesting thought. Maybe in the study, or on one's computer desk ...

That's what I am attempting:

Yeah, I'm specifically banned from anything physically larger than the 10" 3400, and the wife even thinks that's a little large. Oh well.

I tried the translucent thing, it still looks too distracting. I'll keep playing with it, but my goal was to integrate the art into the screens. Yet another Oh Well.

Thanks. This is definitely the beginning of a work in progress, with the emphasis at this point on the functionality and ease and intuitiveness of use.
