I'd LOVE to have a single widget that displays the current source selection for a zone that the user can push to change if they so choose, where I can also use the image of my choice.
Right now I can use a command button with no image stacked on top of a dynamic text widget [that also does NOT support images]. As you can see below, that's only marginally aesthetic, and I can't use one of those cool ripper styles for the button since using an image for the command button will bury the dynamic text. Turning down the opacity makes the button blend into the background too much. ![]()

You could use the Check Box for that, if used sufficiently creatively I think.

Not sure how - the dynamic text could be any of several valid values, not just two.

How about a dynamic text overlay on a button that shows the current source and the button can call a macro 'NextSource' which actually changes the source (with wrap)?

I may be misunderstanding you, but in that case, the overlay would be the top widget in zOrder, and i'd never be able to press the button.

a) Put the text under the button in Z-Order and use a semitranparent bitmap so you can read the text
or b) Place the text above or below or beside the button

Appreciate the guidance, none of those will work for what I want.
I tried A, the button I'd prefer to use (blue gel) blends too much into the background, looks funny. I don't have the real estate for B. I'll stick with a color-based (aka non-image) for the dynamic text for the foreseeable future, hopefully in the long term Dean can add either an image to a dynamic text field, or the OP.

Can you take the blue gel button and open it in photoshop..then ctrl click the layer so you have the outline, make a new layer under this and fill it with another solid color and save it..this way it wont have the same opacity dependent on the color you use to fill the layer under it.
The layer you make under you can also adjust the opacity slightly if need be before saving it as a .png.

If you have problems send me a private message and I'll try to walk you through it with a simple video sometime this weekend.
