They are priced at 2.99 for me, which I think is outrageously expensive. 0.99 I like.

Instructions how to make icons in gimp

**I wont post photoshop links because you would get thousands..use google and you will find lots

**I realize 99 cents is cheap but alot of times you won't find the icons you need or you will find better ones that don't cost anything...many sites sellign expensive icons always give away some really cool ones for free.

I have a big collection of free ones I collected that can be used for personal use if you want them IVB..just PM me.

I'm sorry....maybe this is out of my realm....but I think even $1 is insanely expensive for an extremely small graphic. Just my thoughts. I figured there had to be free stuff out there somewhere.

$1 does seem sorta of expensive *but* if they are created from scratch and you make 30 icons and only sell 300 over a year well thats $300 your paid...I bet to make 30 custom icons could take up to 30-60 hours or more depending on a persons skill.

If a person was to go at a cheap rate for graphics of say $5 per hour...which I will say is incredibly cheap and something you likely won't find then this person in the end only makes $150 profit over a year and thats if he actually would sell 300 individual icons...in the end its *almost* not even worth the time especially if you could work at Mcdonalds and make $10 an hour

Many icons sets with 30 icons or less can cost $200-500 and sometimes the fee goes up depending on the client or its intended use.

Many icons can be made easily with photos off the web and you will have an attractive icon, for anything synthetic looking like say the XP look what is usualy done is they trace a small sketch or photo in Illustrator and get the outlines and then fill then with vectors but it isn't simple..if it was simple everybody would be doing it.

Here are some excellent tutorials by Paul Boyer that give you an idea of the process http://mormegil.wincustomize.com/Art...aspx?AID=64104

**I believe he uses Corel Draw but most of these techniques can be used in Illustrator/Photoshop to some extent...he also from what I know is the guy that created the Windows XP icons and is world known for icon creation.

Here is another excellent icon resource and virtually all icons are provided "Free for personal use"..as long as you are not reselling the icons with your artwork you can use them as much as you want..using them on a computer in your home is no different than using them on your touchscreen setup just *don't* resell them with something else you create or with a system you sell or you technically could be sued.
