Old RIVA - zra - 07-10-2018

Dean,

Has this been removed from 5.3?

RE: Old RIVA - Dean Roddey - 07-10-2018

No, I ended up not doing that. Most likely it will be before long. I'll probably post an end of life formal announcement here soon, maybe something like the next release after the end of the year or something like that. WebRIVA is doing well, everyone should switch over to that. There are some third party wrapper programs available that make it easier to invoke and size to fit and such as well.

Having to continue to support the old RIVA clients means I can't really fundamentally improve the new stuff since they also depend on the RIVA protocol. So I'd like to get rid of them as soon as reasonable.

The biggest reason, Dean, I haven't switched over is that I use swipe commands at more than just the primary template level.

It would be not only a lot of work for me to fix it, it's not desirable at all.

Swiping is much more convenient than pushing a button. I wish you would consider implementing that.

I thought it was implemented at the overlay level, so you should be able to do it on any overlay.

I guess what I meant is at the template level.

For instance, right now I have popups that I can swipe right on and they exit. I also have templates that by swiping right or left I can bring up additional "sub" templates. I don't think that is doable. Hitherto, I've been configuring this via the hot keys menu - a function built into the Iphone RIVA app.
