Well, I have been looking around for a LCD TV and specifically waiting to see what types of deals can be found on Black Friday.
Well I have found my TV. It is the Sharp Aquos 46" LCD (LC46D64U). It is a newer model (came out in fall 2007) and is 1080p. It also has a RS-232 port and protocal commands are in the manual. It normally retails for $2499.
Circuit City is going to have it on sale Friday and Saturday for $1299. Yes that is $1200 off the list price. Reviews seem to be good - as good as it gets for a set in this price range. Sharp has had some issues with banding on their sets, but they are very good about replacing it without any problems. So get it from a local store and everything should be fine.
So I posted this for two reason. First to let others know about this killer deal, and secondly to get someone to write a driver for it (I'm going to post in the driver request thread too). Come on, an experienced driver writer could probably whip this out in a day. You're going to be bored over the holiday anyway. Let's get this done!

I think there is also a LG set LG 47LC7DF that has serial control as well available for 1500 from BB.

By the way, I picked up the TV on Tuesday expecting to be able to price match it on Friday or Saturday (it isn't a Black Friday door buster sale item, but part of their two day sale on Friday and Saturday so it should work), and I have to say I am quite impressed. With some tweaking the colors look great and the picture is very sharp. For the money, I don't think you can beat it IMHO.
It should be available on-line no later than Midnight THursday night/Friday morning at the lower price, so if you are interested in a realatively low price, large LCD TC, I would recommend it highly.

I was told by a local Circuit City that they will not price match if you buy it before Black Friday and come back on Black Friday for the match. They said Black Friday is the exception.

This is true for the special 6hr deals that are black Friday only. But this TV is one of the two day specials (basically they are on sale until the next Sunday flier which happens to be two days), so people have been told they will price match since it is considered a "regular" sale that just happens to occur the weekend after Thanksgiving.
I did notice that this TV is not available on-line however. So it looks like you'll have to fight the crowds to get one.

FYI - I had no problems getting the price match this morning. Actually the cashier fail to notice that I had already received a $100 price adjustment when I picked the TV up from the store because the price had dropped that day. So I ended up getting it for $1199 instead of $1299.
My parents came over for Thanksgiving and liked the TV so much, that I picked one up for them this morning too. I'm tempted to set them up next to each other and watch some serious football!

Hmm, a video wall of 2x2 46" LCDs. I'd gladly give up my projector for that :)
