View Full Version : RFID key flobs
I have had the developers of the Ananiah RFID create a 4 button keyflob for me. I have a prototype in hand and it works very well and it uses the Ananiah RF8315R RFID driver in CQC.
I have ordered 5 of these with enclosures and expect to see them in about 2 weeks. I would like to put in a much larger to get the price down.
If anyone is interested in getting some of these and would like to combine their order with ours please contact me at eguy@gqdigitalhome.com. I hope to get a large enough order to have a price drop.
I will not mark these up at all and will only add the cost of shipping to you via USPO. Depending on where, shipping should be around 1 to 3 dollars.
I do not have a picture yet but will post one as soon as I get my first order in. I will not put in a larger order until I receive my first order so we should have about 2 weeks until I reorder.

You double posted. You should delete one.
With that said. How does the keyfob work and what are the specifications? How far can these transmit? What other tags are available for this system?
I currently own the IAutomated RFID system but that guy has fallen off the face of the earth again so I can't get support for it. I'm interested in a new system provided it can do long distance.

Sorry did not see the double post; it seems to be gone now.
The new tags will have 4 buttons that each send out a 4 digit (numbers and letters, upper and lower case) code that is picked up by the receiver. CQC will see the code and change a field to either true or false depending on weather or not a code is being received. I use triggered events in CQC with the RFID's to do what I need. These units transmit up to 40 meters and all my tests have confirmed that.
They also have tags that are buttonless and send out a constant 4 digit code when in range of the receiver/transmitter. These come in 8 and 40 meter models.
You can see what else they have and buy the receiver/transmitter from their ebay store.

P.S. the 4 button flobs that I am ordering will have enclosures.
Just got all our new z-wave stuff and will be installing it next week...
Production will start this Saturday and will take about 3 weeks to complete. At that time they should be available on ebay.
I have to give props to Mr. Enoc Chan in China. He has been most helpful and accommodating

Eguy,
Glad to hear the range claims are not inflated. When you tested that, where was your receiver (or antenna)? i.e. Would I have to put my receiver on the outer wall of the house? Or how much would the range drop if I have it in the interior part of the house, or even in the basement where the rest of the electronics would go? Any idea about how that would impact the range?
Looking forward to a pic of the fob.
Thanks.

This does sound like a decent product. The range is comparable to what I have now. I may be looking to change in the near future. I have to knock out a few other projects first.

My receiver is inside our show house, right on the computer rack in a closet. The only time I had any range problems was when we had it located inside a metal panel box, something like a breaker box. I am also not using the external power, just the power from the serial cable. I think weather or not you need the external power is dependent on what your serial port power output is. You do have to be careful not to over power either the transmitters or the receivers though. We pumped the external power up to 12 volts and they acted like a RFjammer. Could not get any signal from anything. LOL... at least I know how to knock out someone’s system now....
