View Full Version : Movie Intermission Idea

I'm thinking of tying a button on my remote to an intermission sequence. I'm trying to figure a way to make it work.
I've got USBUIRT so the remote part is easy. I'm using ZP as my renderer. I'd like to stop the move, some how store the current frame location, & play my intermission trailer. On return, I'd like to push a button to restart at the prior location.
I don't see a way to get the position info from ZP. Would a second instance of ZP work for this? I would imagine if I were to pause zp1 and send something to zp2 it would take focus. Then starting zp1 back up would give it focus. Does this make sense? Is there an easier way?
Thanks,
Greg

I would think the 2nd ZP would solve the problem... but I think if you are going to have video on the intermission you will have to purchase a second ZP.

Why wouldn't a muli-instance of that program work. I believe this is within my license. Were you talking of another issue?

You could always use WMP or TT (but you'd have to buy TT) as a second renderer.
I see a driver for WMP.

No... I never purchased it as I use it for audio only... i was assuming they would only allow one instance per license on the saleable version.

This actually worked with 2 instances of ZP running. There were a couple of snags to get over before it worked perfectly though. First, the playing movie has to be stopped and not paused. For some reason when the movie was paused I couldn't get audio over my optical spdif for the second player. Second, I needed to have ZP save the position on stop and load it on play. This is an option under playback on ZP.
For intermission, I kick in the "Let's All Go To the Lobby" & Dancing Hotdog clips. I then start up a 10 minute video I made from the "Coke" slides. It really fits together nice.

Greg, I have an audio clip I could send you that will win you WAF points if any of those kids of yours are girls. Or it would scare the boys once they 'bring a date' over to the home theater!
I'd post it here but I can't post the audio file. And my photobucket account doesn't like the audio file either! :-(
PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

I'm all fired up. I've been adding 6 or 7 dvd titles a night. I'm going to have to start looking for a bigger server case. :-)
