To Everyone,

IP: 64.34.170.218
PORT: 3925
Password cqc

I have setup a Ventrillo Voice Chat server for CQC. This is basically the same thing as TeamSpeak but from what I am told it is better. I have not actually got to try it yet tho.

Here is what you need to do.

1) Download the client from http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php . There is a Windows and Mac version available and a linux version is under development according to their site.

2) Watch this video if you think you can't figure out how to connect to the server for the first time http://www.ventriloservers.biz/demos/first-connection-demo.html

3) Enter this server information:

IP: 64.34.170.218
PORT: 3925
Password cqc

I have password protected the chat just to keep the server clean. If anyone thinks this is not needed then let me know and I will remove the PW.

If you have time now I should be on for a few more minutes and would like for some of you to connect so I can see how the voice quality is.

I also wanted to add that the CQC IRC chat room is also up and running. I have not added it to the front page yet but to access the Java client you simply point your browser to:

http://www.cqcusers.com/irc/

If you would like to use your own client such as MIRC then you will need this server and room information:

Host: irc.marstracker.com
Port: 6667
Room: #cqc

Also, this is the same server as cocoontech uses. Feel free to stop at there room which is #cocoon

To join a new room simply type:
/join #roomname

If you have trouble connecting clear out the info, even though it looks right, and enter it again. Both jkmonroe and I had to do that to get it to work.

did you have dropout issues? Squintz said that I was constantly breaking up on it.

To Everyone,

IP: 64.34.170.128

Is this a static or dynamic IP? If static I can add a DNS record for VoiceChat.CQCUsers.com

static
that would be really nice to have. keep it short and just make it chat.cqcusers.com or voice.cqcusers.com

I also created a IRC page which I would like you to put a link to from the front page if you can. I could not figure out how to put the link up. The link is http://www.cqcusers.com/irc I'd like to have it open in its own window. Most people will use their own client and not even use the link. Its mainly there for newbies.

Once we get that up we could drop the flash chat support. Also, a link on the main page to the voice server information would also be nice.

I set it up for voice.cqcusers.com and changed the Live Chat on the front page

After a dozen tries and re-entering the info, I am unable to connect via Ventrillo. Is this still active?

The irc server keeps saying I'm not registered and disconnects me. I don't see anything in the MOTD so I'm a bit confused.

The following is probably why people were having trouble using the ventrillo server. There are alternate IP address which we could use if this should ever happen again. I am not sure how we would go about getting that information out to people tho.

Instant Ventrilo Servers
~www.ventriloservers.biz~

This server will be receiving a New OS tomorrow between 4-8 am, CST. W e apologize for the server going down last night and have narrowed it down to a faulty harddrive. The server ip and port will stay the same and so will your files as we have backed them up today.

I think that the voice.cqcuses.com may not be working right. I can log on the server just fine when using the IP in teh first post. You can check the status of the server by clicking this link:

http://ventrilo.com/status.php?hostname=64.34.170.218&port=3925
or the one thats not working
http://ventrilo.com/status.php?hostname=voice.cqcusers.com&port=3925

The problem was the password. I thought you were still requiring 'cqc' but when I entered nothing it worked.

Well gosh feaking darn it. I think I gave you guys the wrong info. I fat fingered the IP address which is probably why I can connect and you can't

HOST: 64.34.170.218
PORT: 3925
PASS: cqc

I have updated the first post with the right IP.

---TOYMASTER---
Can you fix the voice.cqcusers.com domain to point to the correct IP?

I found a script that allows us to see who is online via the cqc web page. Eventually I would like for the script to be embeded into the site so that it blends in. But for now its on a page all by its self.

Seems like there has not been any interest in the Ventrillo chat server since I purchased it. I don't mind paying for it if it was being used but since it's not I think this will be the last month before I cancel my subscription.

Are there any objections to this? I think the IRC chat room is now the official CQC users method of live chat. There are other users who can provide TeamSpeak and Ventrillo server access on an as needed basis. I figured I should just save my self the $9 a month.

If you guys still want it for some reason let me know and I will keep it.
