"Writing Device Drivers?"

Yes, very much so, and we encourage you to do so. All the tools required to create device drivers come with the product. We support two different driver development languages. PDL is a simple, declarative language that can handle simpler devices, or more complex devices that have very straightforward control protocols, with a minimum of technical know-how involved. Our general purpose, object oriented CML language can handle more complex devices. For more information, use the Learn tab above, then select the Technical Documents tab. The Driver Development Guide document, a separately downloadable Word document, will provide all the details.

If you don't feel comfortable writing device drivers, you can ask for it to be created. Part of our support forum is dedicated to driver development. Within this forum there are two sticky thread that are maintained to show drivers requested and drivers in progress. You can post requests to the request thread. This is a best effort type of situation as these are typically built by users from the CQC community, not CQSL itself. If the driver is simple, it may be done for free. Else there may be a reasonable charge for it. You can often find other users who need the same driver so that you can all chip in and get it for a quite reasonable price. If you are an Integration Partner, a home builder, etc... and need support for a particular device in order to consummate a sale or before you would consider CQC as an option for your home buying customers, contact us to discuss your needs.
